I don't like the backpacker district. So many fat, pale white folk fearfully trying to cross the road, gorging on hamburgers and pizza (you must be so homesick you're suicidal to eat pizza in Vietnam) and ice cream and tipping waiters and spending too much money on cheap souveniers they could get back home. They even had an Irish pub. Fearing that inside would be a typical Irish Pub, I didnt' go in. It could be one of those magician's boxes where you know what to expect on the inside but you never know where you will be when you come OUT. One thing worth mentioning--St. Patties day was never televised or even advertised. I like it here.
