Mom and Pop are proud of their new plasma TV. So proud they haven't removed the clear stickies on its frame and the remote is still in its plastic. When will they give it some air? Well, judging from the remote on their 5 year old DVD player, never.On a less cynical note, Vietnamese are very proud of how long they can keep things taped together. Jenny's parents will point to things like an old bakelite phone and say, with a twinkle in their eyes, "20 years."
